Lakewood, Colo., March 6, 2026 – Alcorn Construction today announced the completion of a majority ownership transition from founders Chris and Amy Alcorn to President & CEO, Derek Simpson, reinforcing the company’s commitment to continuity, culture, and the values that have defined Alcorn for nearly two decades.

The transition formalizes what has been an intentional and carefully planned evolution of leadership. Derek Simpson, who has been responsible for day-to-day operations and leadership for some time, now serves as President and Chief Executive Officer while also becoming the company’s majority shareholder.

The Alcorns and Simpson emphasized that nothing about how the company operates or serves its customers is changing. The same leadership philosophy, customer-first mindset, and people-centered culture remain firmly in place.

“This transition is the natural next step in a plan we’ve been thoughtfully executing for years,” said Chris and Amy Alcorn in a joint statement. “Derek is deeply aligned with our values, our people, and the way we do business. We are incredibly proud of what this team has built and fully confident in the future of Alcorn under Derek’s leadership.”

Alcorn Construction was founded with a mission to be a place where great, high-performing people love to work. The company, which has established offices in Lakewood, Colorado, and Phoenix, Arizona has long distinguished itself through a strong cultural foundation centered on integrity, ownership, respect, and long-term relationships. These principles continue to guide every project and partnership, and they remain unchanged through this ownership transition.

Under Simpson’s leadership, Alcorn Construction is experiencing strong momentum across the business, supported by a robust backlog and continued demand across its core markets. The company’s leadership team, employees, and customers will continue working with the same people, processes, and values that have defined Alcorn’s success to date.

“Alcorn’s culture, values, and approach to partnership are what make this company special,” said Simpson. “My role is to protect and strengthen that foundation while continuing to serve our customers and create an environment where our people can thrive. This transition doesn’t represent a change in direction – it reinforces who we already are.”

Chris and Amy Alcorn will remain closely connected to Alcorn and its clients, continuing to support the relationships that have long been central to the company’s success.
