As OSHA Safe & Sound Week comes to an end, Alcorn Construction wants to highlight both its longstanding commitment to safety andthe work underway to continually strengthen how safety is implemented acrossthe company. Since its founding, Alcorn has continued to build and refine itssafety program around a simple belief: every worker deserves to return homesafely at the end of each day.
One important step this year is Alcorn’s application for Red-level participation in the Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) program, a partnership between AGC of Colorado and OSHA. Theapplication reflects Alcorn’s commitment to continuous improvement andcollaboration with industry partners to strengthen safety performance acrossits projects.
In 2026, Alcorn is conducting a comprehensive review of itssafety program to make processes more effective, practical, and engaging forfield teams. The review focuses on involving employees closest to the work,ensuring teams have the right tools and training, increasing participation, andsimplifying processes without sacrificing effectiveness.
Technology is also supporting this effort. Alcorn isdeveloping more efficient methods for reporting and tracking safety informationthrough Procore and expanding its use of internal training tools to reinforcesafe work practices across its jobsites.
The review has already led to practical improvements. Alcornstreamlined its weekly safety inspection from a broad 71-question form to afocused 21-question inspection centered on schedule-specific hazards andclearer accountability across project teams and trade partners. Daily safetyobservations are also being documented digitally, making reporting faster, moreconsistent, and easier to track.
Alcorn is also strengthening trade-partner safety managementby collecting and tracking required documentation earlier in the projectlifecycle. Integrating this work into project management and administrationworkflows helps ensure critical safety information is in place before tradepartners arrive onsite.
